White Rabbit is hosting a story cabaret as a fundraiser for Refugee Week in June. Smut Slam is continuing its UK tour in May, and Hand of Doom is running two May-themed story nights in Kent. Talking Tales is calling for submissions for its event at the Bath Fringe Festival on June 2nd.
Arachne Press presents Liam Hogan on a book tour for his new short story collection, Happy Ending NOT Guaranteed. The UK’s first Flash Fiction Festival is being held in Bath on June 24th and 25th.

Lit Mags & Anthologies
The Nottingham Review launches Issue 7 and a call for submissions, and Fictive Dream celebrates their first birthday. The A3 Review tells us about its new things: An issue, A Contest and A3 on Instagram. Bunbury is back with Issue 15 and some exciting news.

Competitions
Ouen Press has announced the results of their 2016 short story competition. The Casket of Fictional Delights’ flash fiction competition closes on 31 May, as does the Reflex summer flash fiction competition. The Dorset Fiction Award is accepting entries until 10 June, and the V S Pritchett Memorial Prize is open, deadline 14 June.

Workshops & Courses
Writers HQ is running a one-week online writing course, Seven Ideas in Seven Days, June 2-5th. The London Lit Lab is running a one day ‘folk tales in fiction’ writing workshop on May 20th.
