Join us for a celebration of the many worlds of song lyrics – from Black Metal to Bubblegum Pop, deeply profound to risibly childish – we examine the poetic life of the lyricist. Presented by Nicholas Law of Wax Lyrical.
Jenn Hart is a DIY poet and musician who has been described as ‘the love child of Kathleen Hanna and John Cooper Clarke’, wowing audiences both at literary spoken word scenes and punk rock crowds. Regularly appearing at house shows, Jenn’s poetry is witty and insightful spiced with politics and feminism. Catch her atop your garden furniture soon… is an evening of storytelling in verse, song and prose at The Thunderbolt pub, Bath Road, Bristol that also has a monthly slot at Bristol Old Vic under the title BlahBlahBlah!

Publishers Bertel Martin of City Chameleon and Richard Jones from Tangent Books hosted the first Word of Mouth events at The Thunderbolt in 2010 and the Old Vic is in its second season. The Thunderbolt events take place the first Wednesday of every month (except January and August). The BlahBlahBlah! programme for 2014 is scheduled to start in February.
Spoken word is now firmly established at The Thunderbolt and Old Vic and we’re looking forward to exciting developments in 2014.
