Verbose: bringing words to the ’burbs – prose and poetry with special guests and open mic. Taking place on the fourth Monday of the month at Fallow café in south Manchester, Verbose features turns from invited performers, along with a section for audience members to read their own prose and poetry. Monday 26 January features members of the Inklings writing group, which includes Elizabeth Baines, Sarah Butler, Sian Cummins, David Gaffney and Adrian Slatcher

Monday 23 February features independent publishing collective Curious Tales, which includes Jenn Ashworth, Tom Fletcher, Richard Hirst, Alison Moore and Emma Jane Unsworth

Monday 23 March features the #Flashtag writers, who include David Hartley, Benjamin Judge, Tom Mason and Fat Roland

Monday 27 April features contributions to Confingo magazine, edited by Timothy Shearer

Monday 25 May features stories from Nightjar Press, edited by Nicholas Royle, with readings from Nicholas plus Kate Woodward and Booker Prize-nominated Alison Moore

Monday 22 June features experimental poets The Other Room, aka James Davies, Scott Thurston and Tom Jenks

Monday 28 September features Centre for New Writing and The Manchester Review writers and tutors Ian McGuire, John McAuliffe and Geoff Ryman

Monday 26 October features Re/Place project collaborators Sarah Butler, Kate Feld and David Gaffney

Monday 23 November features talent from the Manchester Speculative Fiction group
