The Incubator is a quarterly online magazine which aims to showcase the best in new contemporary work by writers living in Northern Ireland and Ireland. We can be found on twitter, facebook and Pinterest
We are inspired by those notepads full of thoughts every writer owns, the scraps of pages, the notes on smart phones documenting snippets of overheard conversations, the pulling over on roadsides to nab a fleeting thought before it’s gone for good – incubators bring to mind where the majority of writing is done, away from any desk, fermented in the quiet moments.
Short fiction is at the heart of this journal, we will also accept memoir, one act plays, essays and poetry but only in special themed issues. Please see our full guidelines here.
We are accepting submissions the month of June for our September issue, short fiction and plays only.
Please send all work to editor.theincubator@gmail.com both pasted into the body of the email and attached in a word doc. No biography needed at this point, we judge the work solely on its own merit.
We aim to showcase and nurture the talent of local writers, established and emerging alike, to give an opportunity for like-minded people to meet and read their work in public with the launch of each issue.
