The Cro Magnon – www.thecromagnon.com – is a literary ezine for new writers huddled around a fire telling stories, exploring new meaning, and creating. We are looking to invite writers to join us at this Fireside. From prehistoric conversation to the novel, the rudiments of writing are the communal exchange of unfixed abstractions, constructs, and images. This comprehensive view of ‘writing’ infects all of our publishing – and a similar drive should guide your submissions. We publish the avant garde and the intelligent, we accept submissions of short stories, essays, plays and poetry– best play submissions can end up in The Cro Magnon Theatre, our moving carnivalesque performances of new playwriting. Our quarterly short story prizes (soon to be announced) lets us introduce new writers into our Fireside. Writing permeates all of our lives; The Cro Magnon only hopes to redress the balance by permeating right back.

All submissions should be double spaced, and emailed to editors@thecromagnon.com with a brief cover letter, your name and a word count.
