submissions open at doppelgänger

Submissions are now open at our new venture, doppelgänger. We are looking to publish x 3 realist short stories and x 3 magical realist short stories in one short but sweet print magazine. We hope that the clash of these two forms will be at least disconcerting and at best interesting. You can find all our submission guidelines in a handy pdf on our website, but in brief the word limit rests at 4,000 words and we are open until 30 September 2017.

We have broad tastes and, besides the restrictions on form, typically approach fiction with an open mind. We are interested just as much in new writers as writers with a record. Pay attention to your sentences, and give us a good ending, and you are in with a shot. Writers who follow the submission guidelines will be viewed favourably (only fair). All submissions should go to submissions@doppelgangermag.com. Any questions to editor@doppelgangermag.com.

We are stoked to receive your submissions.

Season’s Greetings from Fictive Dream

We end the year on 18th December with The Woman Who Ate A Whole Princess, a tour de force by Camillus John and re-open with new stories on 8th January 2017.

In the meantime Fictive Dream remains open to submissions so please send us your best short stories and flash fiction (500-2,500 words).

Happy Christmas and a great New Year.
