Small Wonder Short Story Festival 2015: Tickets on sale now!

It’s not too late to plan a September visit to the South Coast and the most charmingly bijou festival in the land. Charleston’s annual short story festival Small Wonder is back, running from 23 – 27 September with one-off performances, story readings, discussions and workshops featuring innovative national and international writers. Top picks this year include our celebrations of the short story traditions from Africa, the USA and Ireland, featuring writers including Thomas Morris, Sarah Churchwell, Donal Ryan, Leila Aboulela; and our explorations of the relationship between short stories and other art forms, such as English folk song, film and photography. If that’s not enough, we have Jane Gardam accepting the Charleston-Chichester Lifetime’s Achievement Award, Marina Warner, Kirsty Gunn on Katherine Mansfield, Salley Vickers, Tessa Hadley, Stuart Evers, The Moth, BBC Radio 4 Bookclub, Shirley Collins, and David Constantine. Truly an embarrassment of riches celebrating the short form. It all takes place at the Bloomsbury Group’s country home Charleston, near Lewes, East Sussex. Come along and join in!
