The A3 Review Seeks an Editor for Issue 5

issues 321

The A3 Review is a fold-out magazine that behaves like a map. Founded by Shaun Levin and created alongside Writing Maps, The A3 Review publishes short stories, poetry and artwork. Each issue contains 12 or 13 contributions selected from entries to a monthly contest.

We’re looking for an editor for Issue 5. You’ll be involved in every stage of putting together the issue. You’ll promote the monthly writing contest between March and August 2016 and select the winning entries to appear in the next issue.

Some editing experience would be great, and considerable passion for literature, visual arts and publishing is a must. A candidate with a publication history would be a good thing.

You’ll help to choose the themes for the next six contests, select winners from the submissions, and edit and proofread the new issue of the journal. You’ll communicate with contributors.

You will help to raise the profile of the journal via social media and by all other legal means necessary. We want to work with someone who has contacts in the writing world, a web presence and no social media phobias.

Some of the qualities we’re looking for in an editor: organisational skills, self-motivation, a proactive approach, an attention to detail, and a creative and commercial thinker.

The job requires no more than 10 hours a month. The pay is £10 per hour. The journal is based in London, but all of the work could be done remotely, so we welcome candidates from anywhere in the world.

Visit us on the Writing Maps website and on our Submittable page.

Please apply to a3@writingmaps.com with a CV, and a brief cover letter stating what you could bring to the post, as well as 3 possible themes for future contests.

Application deadline is 20 January 2016.
