Stroud Short Stories is an independent non-profit making live lit event held twice a year in Stroud, Gloucestershire, UK.
Our aim is to encourage, showcase and promote contemporary Gloucestershire and South Gloucestershire short story writing and writers. We’ve been going since 2011 and our latest event was our 18th.
At each event ten authors read a story selected by the SSS judges from the 100 or so submitted each time.
The next event, our 19th, will be on Sunday 10 November 2019 at the Cotswold Playhouse, Parliament Street, Stroud, GL5 1LW at 7.30pm (doors 7.00).
We are currently open for submissions and close at the end of Sunday 29 September 2019.
There’s no theme this time – so any content, any theme, any style – as long as it’s a short story of 1,500 words or fewer. It’s free to submit and we accept both unpublished and previously published stories.
