Stroud Short Stories is a non-profit making short story live lit event held twice a year in Stroud, Gloucestershire, UK. Our aim is to showcase and promote Gloucestershire and South Gloucestershire writers and writing. We’ve been going since 2011 and our latest event was our 16th. These days we sell out every time, so tickets are only available in advance from our venue, the SVA in Stroud. Ten authors read a story selected by the SSS judges from the 100 or so submitted each time.
Our latest event, called ‘On Pulling Newts from Ponds & Other Stories’, was held on 20 May 2018 at the SVA in John Street, Stroud, GL5 2HA. We selected ten stories from the 128 submissions, and all tickets sold out in just 5 days! Thank you to all 70 people who attended the event.
Our next event will be on 11 November 2018 and we will open for submissions in early September.
