Southword Journal Online is the literary journal published at least twice yearly by The Munster Literature Centre. Southword includes the work of both established and emerging writers, and has published the likes of Haruki Murakami, Medbh McGuckian, James Lasdun, Tess Gallagher and Colm Toibín. Submissions are taken at Submittable. It is advised to read the guidelines thoroughly and read back issues of the journal before sending in your work.
The prize-winning and highly commended stories from the Munster Literature Centre’s Seán Ó Faoláin Competition are published annually in the journal, and an anthology of the first 10 years of winning stories has just been released from Southword Editions: Pigs’ Feet, White Socks & Hoovers.
