Short Fiction Prize 2017 Jan 3

Short FICTION appears annually in the autumn. cover-shadow

Some of our authors are long celebrated, others we’ll take credit for as our discovery.

Within our pages, we take special care to prepare each writer’s work with bespoke front-illustration and within its own chapbook of space. See our back issues for stories by Kevin Barry, Helen Oyeyemi, Alison McLeod, Brad Watson and Marina Warner.

Our current issue. 13 beautifully illustrated stories from around the world. 180 pages including Nick Holdstock, Kit de Waal, Colin Barrett, Ríona Judge McCormack, Inderjeet Mani, plus our competition winner, Michelle Coyne. Artwork by Lisa Stokes.

Short story competition opens January 1st each year. £500 first prize.

Editor: Tom Vowler

Contributing Editors: Helen Oyeyemi, Ali Smith, Toby Litt, Mike McCormack, Gerard Donovan, Joe Wenderoth, Jayne Anne Phillips and Rattawut Lapcharoensap.
