Open Pen Issue 10 & Onwards Jan 16

“Set up in early 2010, Open Pen is London’s first ‘Open Literature’ magazine, comprised entirely of reader-submitted prose. To submit to Open Pen Magazine, take a look at our submissions page.

Our aim is to create a print movement that is interesting and relevant, and encourages growth of London’s talented, fertile, literary underbelly, by providing those up-and-coming writers with a place to publish their work in print.

With issues published once quarterly, Open Pen is distributed completely free of charge to independent bookshops, libraries, university campuses and even coffee shops and bars across the capital. With every issue we grow stronger, and so does our range of stockists. You can now pick Open Pen Magazine around the country in as far reaching places Oxford(!) Jerome would be proud.

So, you think you’ve got a piece of writing that we could be interested in? Well, we’d love for you to submit your work to us. You never know, it could end up being on the cover of our next issue with the full front cover treatment.

It’s important to remember that we are not looking for a specific type or style of prose. So long as it is completely your creation and 50 to 4,000 words it is suitable for submission. We love receiving a real range of writing. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us or visit our FAQ.

Submissions can come from anywhere in the world. We’re OPEN.
