“the place to find author interviews, essays, new fiction, extracts, book news, diary pieces and blogs about the published word. In the coming months we will launch an occasional salon at London venues, and introduce a new strand for reviewing and discussing children’s books. New writing is at the heart of what we do, and we welcome submissions from new and established authors. Please comment on and share content as you browse the site, sign up to our monthly newsletter – and keep in touch.
Bookanista accepts short story submissions for the ‘new voices’ strand via email. But before you submit, please familiarise yourself with what we publish. No attachments please, just cut and paste your text in to the body of the email, including title, author and word count, and include ‘short story’ in the subject line.
Please ensure that all stories are accompanied by full contact details and a short biography of no more than 30 words. Include links to your blog/website if you have one. All submissions must be in English and previously unpublished. Simultaneous submissions are acceptable, provided we are notified immediately if a story is accepted for publication elsewhere. Please send only one manuscript at a time. Due to the volume of submissions we receive, we are unable to respond to every story, and only successful submissions will be contacted. newvoices [at] bookanista.com
Please note that we are currently unable to pay writers or artists a fee for their work. Copyright is retained by individual contributors.”
