A Literary Bestiary June 4
Ark is a new project that stages immersive live performances of short stories in libraries, pushing the boundaries of live literature and forging new creative collaborations.
Performances are curated around a theme to include classic, contemporary and newly-commissioned short stories, performed by actors and writers, to combine readings with other art forms including film, animation, dance, sound, live music, and to involve the audience including through interactive book art.
Each performance is site-responsive, either to the spaces of particular libraries, or their collections, exhibitions or communities.
Ark aims to bring short stories to life for new audiences in creative and unexpected ways, and to reanimate libraries as exciting performance spaces.
We’re delighted to have been awarded Arts Council funding to put on a series this year. Take a trip to the Ark website for details.
