New on ShortStops

This month we welcome another new magazine to our list – Pixel Heart,  “created to allow for writers and poets to showcase writing that they’ve created with heart, online.”

Competitions

The Michael Mullan Cancer Fund competition is open until 20 July, for short stories, flash fiction and poetry. The Sean O’Faolain short story competition is open until July 31st. Ouen Press announced its competition results.

The VS Pritchett Short Story Prizecloses on June 29th. The Grist competition is open for submissions of stories of protest, deadline July 15th.

 

Lit Mags

Pixel Heart is calling for submissions for its first issue, on the theme of “Love”. Tales from the Forest has a call for submissions on the theme of “Limits”, and Here Comes Everyone is calling for submissions for its Ritual issue.

Crossways #2 is now online, and Bunbury magazine launches a new podcast. Fictive Dream has a special call for submissions for its September Slam.  The A3 Review is looking for stories for its Circles issue.

 

Live Lit & Short Story Festivals

Story Friday is calling for submissions on the theme of “tomorrow” for its September event in Bath. Leicester Writes Short Story Festival is on June 30th in Leicester. Booking is now open for the 2018 Flash Fiction Festival, being held in Bristol in July.

 

Workshops

Inside Fictional Minds: Psychology for Writers’ workshop is being held in Chester June 30-July 1st.
