Story Sunday wants your stories on the theme of “Another Country” for their next event, on March 19th, in Bristol. Talking Tales #12 is in Bristol on Feb 18th, with a “Bad Erotica” theme, and Hand of Doom present Twisted Love: An Antidote to Valentine’s,two nights of alternative love stories, in Faversham on Feb 14th & 17th. Smut Slam continues its UK tour throughout February.
Lit Mags
Fictive Dream would like your stories, and Token Magazine is calling for submissions for its first issue, with a particular focus on BAME writers. Number Eleven’s Issue 9 is now live. Tales From The Forest has a call for submissions for Issue #5.
Competitions
The Shooter short story competition is now open, deadline April 26th. Win a place on the Swanwick Summer School in August. The inaugural Reflex Flash Fiction competition is now open, deadline 28th Feb, and the Short Fiction Prize 2017 is openfor entries, deadline March 31st. The 2017 Crediton Short Story Competition is now accepting entries, deadline 20 April.
Anthologies
Stories for Homes Vol 2, an anthology raising money for the charity Shelter, is open for submissions until TOMORROW Feb 14th. Cornish Short Stories wants your stories set in Cornwall for an anthology to be published in 2018.
Workshops
The London Lit Lab is running a 2-day course in London 8-9 April entitled “Write and Edit a Short Story In A Weekend“.
