A lot of activity in the south-west right now: Story Sunday in Bristol is calling for submissions for its July 3rd Midsummer Madness event, you are invited to Write a Bristol Flash to take part in a walk on National Flash Fiction Day, Talking Tales is onas part of the Bath Fringe Festival on June 5th, Bath, and the literary event Love, Life and Mortality is being held on Thurs 9th June in St John On The Wall, Bristol. Story Friday is calling for submissions for its June event on the theme of “solstice.”

Lit Mags

Flight Journal are calling for submissions for Issue 2, Avis Magazine have a final call for submissions, The A3 Review wants your best work on the five senses, and Bunbury has some amazing news for you.

Into the Void are calling for submissions for Issue 1, The Still Point Journal is calling for submissions on the theme of ‘Digital Selves in Research’ for an online symposium. Jotters United unveils Issue 22 and wants your stories for Issue 23.

Contests

Ouen Press invite you to submit a short story on the theme of ‘The Journey’, by Oct 31st. June is full of deadlines: The University of Sunderland’s inaugural Sunderland Short Story Award is accepting entries until June 1st. The Brighton Prize 2016 is now open for entries, deadline June 10th, Bath Flash Fiction Award entries open til June 12th, The Creative Future Literary Awards are accepting entries til June 13th on the theme ‘a sea change’, and the V S Pritchett Memorial Prize is now open to entries from writers resident in the UK, deadline June 20th.

Workshops and Festivals


The Northern Short Story Festival is being held for the first time
this year, in Leeds, on Sat June 4th. Write and Shine is offering early morning writing workshops in London, and the London Lit Lab is offering two creative writing courses in London.
