The A3 Review is holding its last contest for inclusion in Issue 4. Bunbury blogged about Crime, Space and the World Cup of Authors and Laura Perram interviewed Yaron Kaver at Long Story Short about Mining For Specificity.Shoreline of Infinity is still looking for your short science fiction submissions, and The Queen’s Head Issue 8 submissions window is open. Jotters United has a new issue, Vintage. Confingo No 4 is also out now, as is Structo  no 14 and The Nottingham Review‘s second issue, and Holdfast magazine is calling for submissions.

White Rabbit brings you Tainted Love – A Celebration of the Darker Side of Love, in Deptford on Feb 14. Stroud Short Stories is open for submissions for its April 24th event from writers with a connection to Gloucestershire. Speak Easy unveils itsevents for 2016 and some tips for spoken word first-timers. The deadline has passed for the Word Factory apprenticeship scheme but you can find out about their membership options.


The University of Sunderland has launched the inaugural Sunderland Short Story Award, deadline June 1st, and Shooter Literary Magazine has launched its first short story competition, deadline May 1. Words and Women announce their 2016 short story competition winner. Short Fiction Journal has launched its 2016 short story prize, deadline March 31st. Ouen press has published an anthology of the winners of the Working Dogs international short story competition.


Read Paper Republic presents four short stories about women in China at a “speed bookclubbing event” in London on March 14.Harriet Kline is offering short story critiques to raise money for refugees.
