TAKE 7 short stories and perform!

The Workhouse Players production “TAKE 7” will be performed at the Sheffield Library Theatre on Jan 24th and 25th at 7.30pm. This show is a collection of seven short stories written by Gill Blow who’s adapted them for the amateur stage, it’s a different way of promoting short stories and has proved to be really enjoyed by previous audiences in Gainsborough and Caistor in Lincolnshire. The three actors become the storytellers and assume the role of the diverse characters such as an elderly Elvis impersonator, a woman stuck in a dress in Monsoon’s, a young single mother on a stark journey, and the weird tale of a man whose regular card evening with friends turns into something more sinister. The production contains two duologues which tell the tales of two couples whose stories are tragic, but in every other sense are completely worlds away from each other, even though they are played by the same actors!

Gill is a published short story writer whose work has been broadcast on Radio 4, and she is the winner of the 2013 International Rubery Short Story Award for her story ‘On the Bench’. See www.gillblow.co.uk. Tickets for Take 7 are £7 and £5 Concessions. To book e-mail workhouseplayers@outlook.com, or call 07790 736410.
